Ever Wrath ARC review

Ever Wrath (A Dark Faerie Tale, #4)Ever Wrath by Alexia Purdy

Book synopsis

There is no hope.

Only blood and darkness await.

Shade rules as Queen of the Seelie Summer Court with her love, a Teleen Faerie named Dylan at her side. But, the dark court of Unseelie faeries will do everything in their power to rule the earth, including enslaving the human world. Arthas, the Unseelie Ancient King, has shattered the boundaries of Faerie and the human cities are filling with his evil, unearthly armies.

Old enemies become allies. New friends bring old secrets and an ancient magic to light. Alongside the Ancient Seelie Queen, Kilara, Shade needs to harness this wild magic before the lines between human and faery are forever destroyed.

Shona's review  4 of 5 stars

I fell in love with Shade's story a long time ago, each instalment cant come fast enough. When I first read Ever Shade in August if 2012 I was amazed at how different Purdy's Faerie world was compared to others I had read. In a genre where books can seem very samey Shade's story stands out as completely unique, and that is something that has continued with Ever Wrath.

Shade has grown so much since we first meet her in Ever Shade, she's almost unrecognisable. The girl who tried to ignore the voices in her head now embraces the knowledge and comfort those voices bring to her. She has gone from a 'normal girl who hears voices' to a kick ass faerie queen who seems to be getting stronger at every turn.

Purdy has written an entire series that you can truly sink your teeth into, one that hasn't lost its lustre as the series has progressed.Ever Wrath is the complete package, it is a non stop adventure, filled with betrayals, alliances, surprises and love. And an ending that really truly feels like an ending, despite the fact that some things are left unresolved. But don't fret, I have a feeling that we may still get the answers we seek in the Dark Faerie Spin Off Series
