Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood #10) Review

Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #10)
#1 New York Times bestselling author J. R. Ward’s “different, creative, dark, violent, and flat-out amazing” Black Dagger Brotherhood series continues as a vampire warrior crosses the line between life and death…into a world of dark dreams and darker desires.

Ever since the death of his shellan, Tohrment has been a heartbroken shadow of the vampire leader he once was. Brought back to the Brotherhood by a self-serving fallen angel, he fights again with ruthless vengeance, unprepared for a new tragedy. Seeing his beloved in dreams—trapped in a cold, isolated netherworld—Tohr turns to the angel Lassiter to save his former mate. The only way to rescue her is for Tohr to love another. As war with the lessers rages, and a new clan of vampires vie for the Blind King’s throne, Tohr struggles between an unforgettable past and a hot, passion-filled future. But can his heart let go and set all of them free?

Lisa's Review - 5 out of 5 stars

Wow! I loved this instalment of the series that I would have given it a 6 if I could have!

Ever since his beloved Wellsie was murdered, Tohrment has been living in a downward spiral, trying to find ways to die without committing suicide so that he can join his mate and their child in the Fade. When the angel Lassiter found him and brought him back to his Brothers, Tohr didn't realise the bigger picture and exactly why the angel was always around.
When Tohr and No'One begin to be drawn together, the vampire tries all he can to stop it, not wanting another female to take the place of his beloved, but the angel lets him in on a secret that forces Tohr to open his eyes - his beloved Wellsie is not living her afterlife peacefully in the Fade, instead she is stuck in the In Between, close to fading away, and it is all because Tohr cannot accept she is dead.

I love Tohr, and I loved Wellsie, and I was devastated when she was murdered, and heart broken for Tohr in the aftermath. Throw in poor John Matthew having to deal with only woman he came close to having as a mother, and the whole storyline was so sad. When No'One came along, I didn't give the woman much thought, seeing her only as Xhex's mother, and thinking maybe we would see how their relationship would develop. So when she and Tohr began to grow close, I thought, ok, this is interesting, especially when the reader realises how much she cares for Tohr, and then throw in tyring to save Wellsie's soul, you cant help but will them on!

This instalment of The Black Dagger Brotherhood saga, was incredible, the emotion this book evoked from me, well probably made me a bit of a sap, but I didn't care! I think the last 7 chapters I did nothing but cry through, and the outcome was brilliant. I think Lover Reborn just jumped to the top spot of my favourites from the series.
