Lisa's Review - 4.5 out of 5 stars
I really enjoyed this story, and the fact that it was almost like a two for one! A gang of college buddies reunite for the wedding of Miles and Nicky, but along the way the rest of them have to deal with the disastrous way their friendships and college years ended.
The first half of the book goes back to those college years, and we read as a group of girls become friends with a group of guys, and friendships and relationships form, with flirtations, lies, secrets and backstabbings along the way. All leading to the group being very divided by the end of the year, and some of the friendships so destroyed, it could lead to disastrous consequences at the wedding.
The second half of the book then deals with that reunion, and the way the individuals handle being thrown back together and dealing with the ghosts of their past.
The whole cast was full of some great characters, all really believable and each one was relatable, and we all know a person like each one of these characters! There were some that I loved, and some that I hated. The story was full of funny, witty moments, some heartbreaking moments, and some extremely realistic moments that made reading The Best Thing I Never Had a real pleasure.
The only reason I knocked half a star off was because I enjoyed the whole story, and was really rooting for an ending that seemed like it was coming, and so very nearly got there. But then it ended before it did!
