Christmas At The Cove…book 4 in the Templeton Cove series (Harlequin Superromance)
I am beyond excited for the release of my latest Harlequin Superromance because this is my first ever Christmas book, and I’ve wanted to write one ever since I was first published in 2007.
The only reason I haven’t, is because the inspiration for the right story never materialized…until I created my fictional UK seaside town of Templeton Cove. Christmas At The Cove is the fourth book in the series (although they can all be read as stand-alone stories), and I have completely fallen in love with this small town. Templeton Cove is a place I would love to live and hope my readers would too!
I was keen to write a reunion story and with Christmas comes thoughts of the New Year and new beginnings. The idea came to me to introduce a new heroine, Carrie Jameson, who had a brief fling with Templeton resident, Scott Walker, while on a hen weekend with her friends. Their brief relationship was passionate, sexy and fuelled by intense and immediate attraction.
Carrie falls pregnant and makes the decision that broody, bad boy Scott wouldn’t be interested in settling down and fulfilling the role of a father. Guilt about keeping her daughter, Belle, from Scott grows and after a devastating event in her life, Carrie realizes life’s too short for secrets. In a bid to live an authentic life, she returns to the Cove to tell Scott he is a father…but finds their explosive attraction hasn’t faded with time…
The backdrop of glistening snow, twinkling lights, Christmas cookies and presents made this story a joy to write and, I hope, a joy to read. Romance at Christmas time has to be the best kind of romance, don’t you think?
Happy Reading!
Author Bio:
I live with my fantastic husband, our two young daughters and my beloved black Labrador, Max in a small market town near the famous Georgian City of Bath. Having always ‘played’ with writing, I didn’t seriously sit down and write toward publication until I became pregnant with my second daughter – then I told myself to get my butt in the chair and get on with it before she grows up and I’m forced to get a real job! Lots of short stories followed as did lots of rejections! I took a few distance learning courses, joined some online writers groups and basically, learned my craft. Finally deciding short stories weren’t working for me (they are an art form in themselves!), in 2006 I decided to embark on my first novel and voila Searching For Sophie was born! Since then, my other books have followed each year. And when I’m not writing? You’ll find me with my head in a book or walking the beautiful English countryside with my family. And in the evening? Well, a well-deserved glass of wine is never, ever refused.Follow Rachel
