Review: Demon Road

Demon Road (Demon Road, #1)Demon Road by Derek Landy

Full of Landy’s trademark wit, action and razor sharp dialogue, DEMON ROAD kicks off with a shocking opener and never lets up the pace in an epic road-trip across the supernatural landscape of America. Killer cars, vampires, undead serial killers: they’re all here. And the demons? Well, that’s where Amber comes in...Sixteen years old, smart and spirited, she’s just a normal American teenager until the lies are torn away and the demons reveal themselves.
Forced to go on the run, she hurtles from one threat to another, revealing a tapestry of terror woven into the very fabric of her life. Her only chance rests with her fellow travellers, who are not at all what they appear to be...

Claire's Review 4 of 5 Stars

I had never read anything by Derek Landy, until I picked up a copy of Demon Road. and I can safely say it won't be the last!

This book follows the travels of Amber who finds out that she is not who she thought she was and has to go on the run to stop her parents killing her. This journey sees her meeting demons, vampires, witches and lots of things she never imagined existed.

I really enjoyed this book, I found it very dark and times and even scary in parts which kept me reading to get passed those bits that would stay in my mind if i didn't read past them. There is so much going on is this book it just keeps you hooked from chapter to chapter and doesn't let up.

I cannot wait now to jump straight into Desolation, and see where Ambers journey takes her next!
