Review: Sweet Little Lie by Jill Shalvis

Sweet Little Lies (Heartbreaker Bay, #1)
Choose the one guy you can’t have . . .
As captain of a San Francisco Bay tour boat, Pru can handle rough seas—the hard part is life on dry land. Pru loves her new apartment and her neighbors; problem is, she’s in danger of stumbling into love with Mr. Right for Anybody But Her.
Fall for him—hard . . .
Pub owner Finn O’Riley is six-foot-plus of hard-working hottie who always makes time for his friends. When Pru becomes one of them, she discovers how amazing it feels to be on the receiving end of that deep green gaze. But when a freak accident involving darts (don’t ask) leads to shirtless first aid, things rush way past the friend zone. Fast.
And then tell him the truth.
Pru only wants Finn to be happy; it’s what she wishes for at the historic fountain that’s supposed to grant her heart’s desire. But wanting him for herself is a different story—because Pru’s been keeping a secret that could change everything. . . .

Kerry's 5 of 5 star review

This is the first book I have read by Jill Shalvis but it certainly won't be the last, I've already got The Trouble With Mistletoe on my tbr shelf. This is the first book in the heartbreak bay series. This book is about Pru and Finn. Going by the name of the book and the blurb I knew the secret was going to be a juicy one and man I wasn't wrong. We learn the secret quite early on and this put me on edge waiting for Finn to find out. I really enjoyed this book the two main characters along with the background characters keep you amused!
Elle and Archer are a couple I hope to read about in the near future! That is going to be a good story. I couldn't put this book down I was thinking about reading it even when I knew I couldn't and I've not had a book do that in so long.
The angst I had reading this book can't even be described, I was rooting for Pru from page one she just had that affect on me, waiting for her to finally reveal the secret to Finn kept me going but it was not the only reason I did.
This book tugs at all your heartstrings Jill Shalvis sure knows how to write a love story. The setting is perfect I love how everyone live close to one another. The girls including Pru in their gang is comical the karaoke night was enough to have me laughing out loud. The square sounds perfect, I want to live there. Eddie included he was a nice touch and another way for us to see how caring Pru was, if for some reason we had missed that in all the other examples we get throughout the book.
A brilliant 5 star read for me I can't wait to read more!
