Ellie Jordan Ghost Trapper (Book One) J L Bryan

Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper (Ellie Jordan, Ghost Trapper #1)
Ellie Jordan’s job is to catch and remove unwanted ghosts. Part detective, part paranormal exterminator, Ellie operates out of Savannah, Georgia, one of the oldest and most haunted cities in North America.
When a family contacts her to deal with a disturbing presence in the old mansion they’ve recently purchased, Ellie first believes it to be a typical, by-the-book specter, a residual haunting by a restless spirit. Instead, she finds herself confronting an evil older and more powerful than she’d ever expected, rooted in the house’s long and sordid history of luxury, sin, and murder. The dangerous entity seems particularly interested in her clients’ ten-year-old daughter.
Soon her own life is in danger, and Ellie must find a way to exorcise the darkness of the house before it can kill her, her clients, or their frightened young child.

Clare's review 5 of 5 stars

I picked up this book on a whim, the blurb sounded good, I love paranormal and I needed a change from the 'normal' stuff. I made an excellent choice!
Ellie Jordan is a paranormal investigator or 'ghost hunter', she exorcises the dead, helps them find their resting places and gets paid by the living. She is teamed up with Stacey, who is novice straight out of college who first appears to just wanting to do something her mother doesn't like, first appearances can be deceptive! I really enjoyed Ellie's character and her back story was well written and is was easy to see why she has chosen to make a living this way. Stacey is sweet and good natured and brings a nice amount of humor to the storyline and this is what wins over Ellie later on. Both characters are very relatable and this made for a good read.
One of the things I really enjoyed about this book was the way in which the storyline develops, it starts off with a case that seems quite mild and easy and develops into something much more serious, it flowed really well and it didn't feel like anything was rushed or missing.

There were a few moments in this story where I was really really involved in what was happening, so much so that I read the whole story in around 3 hours, this doesn't happen often for me so you know it's good when it does!! I can honestly say I didn't really dislike anything about this book, it ended well and with the promise of more I am now a huge fan!
