Review: Excess Baggage by Laura Barnard

Excess Baggage

Stuck in a dead-end relationship, Erica Bennett finds herself daydreaming of her first holiday romance. She was fifteen, it was exciting, new and full of possibilities…and Jack Lawson was hot as hell. That kind of thing leaves a mark.

So when her friends suggest a girls holiday to Luna Island, it’s exactly what she needs to take her mind off things. What she doesn’t expect is to spot Jack – a much older, hotter version of him – across the hotel lobby.

Their attraction is still there and it isn’t long before sparks fly, but fifteen years is a long time. They aren’t the same people they were back then and besides, it’s only a week, right?

Is it a second chance at something real or will their excess baggage ruin their shot at love after they leave Luna Island?

Claire's Review 5 of 5 Stars

So I think now after reading a few of Laura's book that I am definitely a huge fan and jumped at the chance to read this one and I'm so glad I did as it was amazing!

The story follows Erica who goes away on a girls holiday and randomly bumps into her teenage holiday romance at the same hotel on a lads holiday and obviously sparks fly in many ways!

This book was everything! Amazing, well-written characters that you can't help but love, a great story line which keeps you turning the page, major hot 'i need a fan' scenes, and laugh out loud moments!! It's just a great read all round! I love Erica as she was so real! You could identify with her character a lot.

I love Laura's writing style and I'm now hooked on her books! I'm really hoping for a sequel as I need Brooke and Toms story!!!
