Review: Christmas Promises at the Little Wedding Shop by the Sea by Jane Linfoot

Christmas Promises at the Little Wedding Shop
The charming fourth book in the best selling ‘The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea’ series.

Christmas arrives at Brides by the Sea, Cornwall’s enchanting and most adorable little wedding shop.

There’s nothing more magical than a winter wonderland wedding, and the girls are determined to make this festive season their most romantic yet.

The champagne is on ice while the mistletoe is hanging from every nook, and the exquisite lace and pearl-encrusted dresses, glistening like the frosted shop windows, are waiting to be chosen.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and romance is most definitely in the crisp winter air- with promises, proposals and Christmas kisses aplenty…

What will the season bring, in this enchanting fourth book of ‘The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea’ series?

Shona's review 5 of 5 stars

The Little Wedding Shop by the Sea has definitely become one of my favourite series to slip in to. I love the long term cast of characters, and I love the new additions with each book.

Holly definitely resonated with me more than some of the other female leads, perhaps it was the fact that we both lost an older sister when we were younger, though the circumstances of those loses were different. Clearly many years have gone on and Holly has found a way to cope with her loss and move on with her life, but there will always be moments where her thoughts will naturally gravitate to her sister and whether they be happy or sad moments they will come when you least expect it. Linfoot has done an amazing job at finding the perfect balance between showing us these moments without bogging the story down in Holly's sad memories. Whilst the story isnt about Holly and the loss of her sister, for me it provided an extra depth of character to Holly and even offered up a little insight as to why she is the way she is.

Rory... I can totally see why Holly had a huge crush on him as a teenager, can even understand why he invokes such strong reactions as an adult. But as the book progresses and we get to know him we see a slightly different side to the Rory Holly remembers. And I'm not embarrassed to admit I might be a teensy bit in love with him myself.

This is another fantastic instalment in a fantastic series. One that I will enjoy reading again and again in the years to come.
