We are incredibly lucky today to have not one, but two awesome book babes join us here at Booky Ramblings. It's with great pleasure I hand over the page to co-authors Rebecca Gober and Courtney Nuckels for what will (hopefully) be the first of a long line of Take Over posts.
Rebecca Gober and Courtney Nuckels are down home country girls powered by chocolate and other random late night cravings. Coined in southern twang, they bring new meaning to the word y'all. BFI's since the 6th grade, with a knack for getting into sticky situations, has resulted in countless ideas to write about for years to come.
Rebecca and Courtney co-authored their first book, a young adult paranormal romance: Night Marchers in October 2011. They released their second book in The Night Marchers Series: Redemption, in February 2012. Since then they have gone on to write a new young adult apocalyptic series called The ELE Series. Currently there are four books published in The ELE Series: Project ELE, Finding ELE, Exposing ELE and Surviving ELE.
When not writing, Rebecca and Courtney spend time in their Texas homes with their families and their oversized dogs who still think they are puppies.
Creating ELE
Courtney and I have been best friends since the 6th grade. We took that friendship to a new level in October 2011 when we decided to partner together to write our first novel, Night Marchers. Since then we have gone on to write the sequel to that series: Redemption, as well as three books in our most recent series: The ELE Series.
The ELE Series has become our favorite journey through writerdom yet! We've been asked what inspired us to create this series, and to be honest there are a number of factors that led us to create the world around Project ELE.
After reading The Hunger Games trilogy as well as a few of our other favorite dystopian genre novels, we knew that we wanted to try out a futuristic setting for our next quest. We played around with several different ideas and all of them kept coming back to a heroine with amazing powers who would eventually learn to kick bad-guy-butt. We also came to the agreement that we wanted to have a series that starts at the beginning of an apocalyptic event as opposed to the aftermath in the future after such an event had occurred. After many Skype dates in search of the perfect plot, we ended up blending two of our ideas together. Courtney had some awesome ideas about immunizations gone wrong and I had written a short story for an anthology about a world in the future where everyone has a special power. We smooshed the two ideas together, added a strong heroic female lead who is still very much a teenager and BAM, we had the ingredients for making The ELE Series.
Currently the ELE Series consists of four novels: Project ELE (which is FREE), Finding ELE, Exposing ELE and our most recent release - Surviving ELE. We will be releasing the fifth novel in late May. We've been asked how many books will be in this series. We honestly don't have an answer to that yet. Willow's story hasn't been fully told, so there will be at least one more book that will follow-up after Surviving ELE. We are currently working on a novella called: ELE, which will show all of our main characters before they were forced to head towards the shelters. We figured this inside scoop would be an exciting edition for our fans and a sort of prologue to Project ELE.
For more information on our ELE Series, check out the book descriptions below. We hope you will take a chance and download your free copy of Project ELE and dive into Willow Mosby's futuristic world.
The ELE Series:
Millions have already died, and thousands more are perishing daily. As a last-ditch effort to preserve the human race, the government implements Project ELE. With the earth heating at rapid speeds, all remaining survivors are forced to turn to F.E.M.A. shelters to wait out ELE's wrath.
Fifteen-year-old Willow Mosby's life, as she knows it, ends the moment she walks through the shelter's door. Willow has to quickly adapt to the new challenges that shelter life demands, which includes making new friends and working a full-time job.
Soon after making an interesting discovery, Willow and her friends start exhibiting strange abilities. Seeking answers, they embark on a mission to find out what these new abilities mean and whether they are a gift or a curse.
This new adventure can send her world crashing down around her. The question is: Can Willow survive the fall?
From the authors of Night Marchers comes a new apocalyptic series with a paranormal twist.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the contest! I loved the Hunger Games and I enjoy paranormals and Sci-Fi... so that would be a good mix to me! I picked up the 1st book in the series on Smashwords... and look forward to the others! BTW, I always leave reviews once I read a book... :-)))
ReplyDeleteWhat about your main characters in Project ELE is the most admirable trait?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post! Ooh I gotta add this series to my to read list!
ReplyDeleteYou wont be disappointed Julie, this series is awesome.
ReplyDeleteThis series sounds really interesting! What was your inspiration for the series and the characters?
ReplyDeleteBlondieBlack- We loved Hunger Games too! I'm so glad you like the premise and can't wait to hear what you think of our books. Also, reviews mean the world to authors and even more so to Indie authors. Thanks for taking the time to write them!
ReplyDeleteShaila- I think one of the most admirable traits that we loved writing was the courage Willow had to have. Courage doesn't come easy and Willow certainly didn't have it easy. Nobody really did.
Julie- We can't wait to hear what you think of our series! Hope you enjoy it. The 5th book in the series will be published by the end of May hopefully.
Romance Junkie- Our inspiration for the series was a mix of two things. I had written a short story for an anthology that revolved around a futuristic world where people had powers and some of those powers were hunted and Courtney had an idea about a future where immunizations took a different path. In the end when we were deciding what to write after Night Marchers, we decided to merge our two ideas together. I'm so glad we did too because this has been such a blast writing The ELE Series. We love diving into that world.
