Review: Behind her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough

Behind Her EyesDon’t trust this book. Don’t trust this story. Don’t trust yourself.

David and Adele seem like the ideal pair. He's a successful psychiatrist, she is his picture-perfect wife who adores him. But why is he so controlling? And why is she keeping things hidden?

As Louise, David's new secretary, is drawn into their world, she uncovers more puzzling questions than answers. The only thing that is crystal clear is that something in this marriage is very, very wrong. But Louise can't guess how wrong – and how far someone might go to protect their marriage's secrets.

Ok so I knew pretty much going in to this book that the ending was going to be a shocker... how could it not be when everyone is talking about it with the hashtag #WTFThatEnding but I can guarantee that you will NOT be able to see what is coming.

From the very beginning Louise is caught up in David and Adeles life, almost without choice, although ultimately she does choose to stay that way. Adele convinces Louise to keep their friendship a secret and although it becomes apparent that Adele is aware of Davids affair with Louise we don't know how.
And so we have a sordid little triangle of lies. And as other secrets are revealed the truth becomes a little harder to see. "Don’t trust this book. Don’t trust this story. Don’t trust yourself." Yes this book did have me questioning myself, was I trusting the right person? Even when you *think* you know whats going on there's another twist and turn. Pinborough has done an amazing job at keeping the biggest secret of all hidden.

Behind Her Eyes is an easy read, so well written that you literally don't want to step away from it. And when I had to put it down I would find my mind wandering back to it. I've read a lot of psychological thrillers this last year and Behind Her Eyes surpasses all of them. This is the book other psychological thrillers hope to be.
