Review: The Charmed Life of Taryn by Lindy Zart

On the day Taryn Smith turns eighteen, her life changes - and not just because she can now legally vote. A black-eyed man with a chilly aura accosts her, and a stilted breath later, she's abducted by a man who claims he's a Manang; a half-man, half-angel being who lives in a world called Urian. Side note: he may or may not be insane. Sent to a mansion in the middle of a grassy field surrounded by forest, and partnered with a black-haired, blue-eyed man with a surly nature who makes her heart spin, Taryn trains. For what, she doesn't know. She's told she's someone special; a Charmed, and the key to winning in a battle of worlds about to collide. Only problem is, she can be a weapon of good, or a weapon of bad.

Claire's Review 4 of 5 Stars

Until she turned 18, Taryn was a normal girl...or so she thought, and that's when everything changes, and she discovers she is 'Charmed'.

This was an intriguing and charming story, with well-developed characters that keep you turning the page to find out what is going to happen next. A great read that I would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys paranormal reads.

A fantastic story, my only issue was that I felt you jumped straight into the action without any back story to Taryn. I also really didn't like the word 'manang' - I get where this was from but I just felt this word felt uncomfortable to read, but that is just my pickiness.
